A Christmas Carol, The Musical

December 2 to 22, 2016

The Broadway version of A Christmas Carol is a spectacular adaptation of Charles Dickens’s well-known story, as evidenced by its decade-long run at Madison Square Garden.  Broadway heavy hitters Alan Menken (Disney’s Beauty and The Beast) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical) breathe fantastic new life into the classic tale.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others.  With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” as he goes around town, Scrooge sums up his feelings of Christmas tidings.  His life changes when three ghosts visit on Christmas Eve, leading him through his Past, Present, & Future.  Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his selfish ways and reconnects with those that mean the most to him.

FOX on the fairway

January 27 to February 11, 2017

Golf and sex are the only things you can enjoy without being good at them,” observes Pamela, quite a knowing lady, during the opening moments of “The Fox on the Fairway.”

A modern-day American romp, “The Fox on the Fairway”, is constructed in the old-fashioned British style of farce with an elaborate plot and dizzy characters. The play spins around a golf tournament and pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy members of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it’s a charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man’s eternal love affair with… golf.

“The Fox on the Fairway is phenomenally funny!” – New Jersey Star Ledger

evita

Evita features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice and is one of their most successful musicals, as evidenced by its well-known signature anthem: “Don’t Cry For Me, Argentina”.

The musical is based on the life of Argentine political leader Eva Peron who became the spiritual leader of the nation, rising from nothing to become one of the most famous political figures in the country’s history. It follows Eva’s early life, rise to power, charity work, and eventual death.

More than just a modern-day Cinderella story, Evita is a powerful musical about ambition, politics, class, and an overwhelming need for acceptance and love.
