"CINDERELLA" OPENING AT DIAMOND HEAD THEATRE

Honolulu, HI, November 1, 2006—Diamond Head Theatre's next production, CINDERELLA, opens on Friday, December 1, 2006.

With music by Richard Rodgers and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, CINDERELLA is filled with wonderful songs, wicked (but hilarious) stepsisters, a lovingly pompous king and of course the glass-slippered heroine, Cinderella. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA was the most widely viewed program in history. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true. Now as adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of laughter, the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits. Musical Highlights: “In My Own Little Corner”, “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful”, and “Ten Minutes Ago”.

Guest directed by Greg Zane, guest choreographed by Tim Albrecht, and with musical direction by Emmett Yoshioka, the show features Ashley Ingersoll as Cinderella, Sean Jones as the Prince, Daniel Kunkel as the King, Jessica Doyle as the Queen, Renee Noveck as the Stepmother, Kristin Jann-Fischer as Joy, Melissa Bustamante as Portia, Alison Maldonado as the Fairy Godmother, Viet Vo as the Herald, Friston Ho'okano as the Chef, and James Kimo Kaona as the Steward.

The ensemble includes: Angelito Anacan, Brian Gustaveson, Chantelle Holt, Jodi Jarvis, Jenny Kimura, Kathryn Lee, Sandra Lee, Andrea Lopes, Alex Lum, Chanel Meyers, Brad Mezurashi, Ellen Minkin, Leiney Rigg, Nicole Sandry, Nicole Sullivan, Ashley Allen Tsuji, Grant Uchida, and Candace Yoshioka. The children's ensemble includes: Aurora Bunten, Celia Kenney, and Chad Masuda.

The creative team is comprised of set designers Vincent Green and Dawn Oshima, costume designer Karen G. Wolfe, lighting designer Dawn Oshima, sound designer Mikel Humerickhouse, make-up and hair designer Jess Aki, props designer Douglas Scheer, and production stage manager Denise Nakano.

CINDERELLA will run from December 1 - 17, 2006 with shows at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 4 p.m. on Sundays. Saturday matinees at 3 p.m. are on December 9 and December 16.
